I offhandedly mentioned the existence of ten dimensions the other day in
my post on binary thinking. (Go
read it. You know you want to. It will help inoculate you against mind-messers.) When my son read it, he directed my attention to these two clips that explain each of the ten dimensions in an understandable way - or at least as close to understandable as that topic can get. This will also mess with your mind, but it is more likely to cause expansion than contraction. So, without further ado, here is the first one, that covers the first six dimensions.
The videos are the explanation of the concepts in the first chapter of the book,
Imagining the Tenth Dimension.

Yay, physics! Last week's Science Friday on NPR briefly mentioned the other dimensions while discussing the Large Hadron Collider.
Do you know that a girl has actually recorded a rap video on the Collider, that explains the physics of it? Apparently it's a big hit on YouTube.
What, no link?
I couldn't find it. Er, I mean, I had to give you a chance to shine, right?
